Gilt terracotta signed on the base BIZETTE-LINDET, circa 1935.
André Bizette-Lindet (1906-1998). Student at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he won the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1930 and went to the Villa Medici from 1931 to 1935, then directed by Paul Landowski.
He contributed to the “Living Wall” research group which sought to link sculpture to contemporary architecture. He used a wide variety of materials in his work (stone, ceramic, bronze, plaster, terracotta), scattered throughout France and abroad.
One of his most famous achievements are the figures of the bronze doors of the museum of modern art of the city of Paris.
