Very important Buddha in dry lacquer, Burma  end of 18th century
Buddha in dry lacquer of very impressive size (112 cm to the flame) in the position of Bhumisparsa mùdra,  Buddha calling the earth to witness.
This posture represents the awakening of the Buddha and symbolizes the victory over Mâra. The god Mara is associated with death, rebirth and desire.
