Christ in Boxwood , 17th century

A Rare and significant Christ on the cross sculpted in the round in boxwood.
Excellent workmanship in the execution. The right foot is overlaid on the left, the right being the symbol of good, of justice in antiquity and the three nails perhaps being an allegory of the Trinity.
