Young boy dressed as an Evzone (elite light infantry battalion of the Greek army, currently assigned to guard the presidential palace in Athens), lying on a sofa, a hookah at his feet. He is dressed in the traditional skirt, the fustanelle, wearing the pharion (red felt beret with black silk tassel) and the phermeli (hand embroidered vest).
The killim carpet on which he is lying seems to be rather Anatolian.
Very rare subject, dated 1908, signed Fernand Gaudfroy, Belgian painter (1885-1908).
