Charles Emmanuel JADIN, painter born in Paris in 1843, made the trip to North Africa, like many of his colleagues at the time.
Son of Louis Jadin, he first studied with his father before joining Cabanel’s workshop. He made his debut at the 1868 Salon. A member of the Artistes Français since 1885, he exhibited genre and history subjects at the Salon. He also won a medal in Philadelphia and the Dieppe museum has a still life of him entitled “musical attributes”.
