Round galvanoplasty plate representing the Greek Pantheon, on the edge of a central lyre motif surrounded by two winged cherubs.
Very fine work (this method generally gives less fine achievements) from the end of the 19th century.
Electroplating is a technique of shaping a metal object by electrolytic coating of this pure metal forming a more or less thick layer. The work thus obtained, from various materials, most often copper, is generally gilt or silver plated afterwards by the same process.
