“Young Beggar Girl in a Street of Cairo”. Oil on canvas signed and dated Edouard GIRARDET, 1845. Born in 1819, he was a pupil of his brother Karl with who he made a trip to Egypt. He was in the Salon from 1839 to 1876 and won a 1st class medal in 1861. Many of his works are in Swiss museums and in Versailles. Very nice 18th century carved and gilt wood frame. 73×86 cm including the frame.
