Large wedding cassone in oak and poplar wood, decorated with “à pastiglia” decoration. Coat of arms of the Sergardi-Cristofori family. Decoration of lions sitting, surrounded by trees, in lozenges, on the front and on the sides. Seven armor blazons on the top and sides, as well as a phylactery with a latin inscription ,not easily readable . Beautiful registers decorated in stitch mesh on the top and three sides. Original key lock. In the 15th century in Italy, elaborate boxes and chests, decorated in relief with a white pastiglia decoration, came after the painted boxes, in ivory or boiled leather, which aroused the interest of the European élites.
